Increased energy, stamina, and endurance
The antioxidant properties of the compound have been repeatedly shown to dramatically boost energy levels in older people.
CoQ10 is a cofactor or coenzyme for three large enzyme complexes in our mitochondria that produce approximately 90% of all cell energy.
It’s an essential coenzyme for the vast majority of our energy production. It is also a strong antioxidant.
Cells and organs that have high energy demand have a high concentration of mitochondria and therefore a high concentration of CoQ10, so CoQ10 in food is found in highest concentrations in organ meats.
It is found in lesser amounts in muscle meat, plants, seeds, and seed oils. Very little CoQ10 is found in animal fats because they are not very metabolically active.
